The Irwin residence was a termite-ridden house on sailboat water with a disjointed floor plan. It had tiny rooms with no views of the water. The owner, a sailboat racer and designer, had owned the home for many years and always dreamed of renovating it. He came to us with a folder containing decades of sketches. Together we designed an open floor plan featuring near continuous windows, porches and balconies so he could enjoy multiple views the water as well as his pride and joy docked out back. We added a shop for working on sail boats, a family room with vaulted ceilings, an elevator, swimming pool, seawall, dock, and landscaping. A new entrance tower, siding, standing seam roof and cable railings completed the look.
